The HRD Awards NZ 2022 Award Categories and Criteria

Individuals and organisations that have made significant contributions as leaders in their field will be showcased throughout the year in a variety of Key Media platforms including HRD Online and HRD events.

 

Individual Awards

NZ HR Director of the Year
  • Recognises the HR leader who has demonstrated excellence at the executive level over the past 12 months
  • Eligible finalists will be senior level leaders who report to the CEO and manage an HR team that looks after 500+ employees
  • Judged on leadership, communication, strategy, drive and results
NZ HR Manager of the Year
  • Recognises the individual who has demonstrated excellence at the management level over the past 12 months
  • Eligible finalists will be mid-level leaders who look after up to 500 employees
  • Judged on leadership, communication, strategy, drive and results
NZ HR Rising Star
  • Recognises the individual who has demonstrated excellence in their first 5 years of work in an HR role
  • Judged on leadership, communication, strategy, drive and results

 

Company & Team Awards

HR Team of the Year > 500 staff
  • Recognises the HR team in an organisation with over 500 employees in New Zealand that has demonstrated excellence over the past 12 months
  • Judged on overall team performance including leadership, communication, strategy, drive and results
HR Team of the Year < 500 staff
  • Recognises the HR team in an organisation with up to 500 employees in New Zealand that has demonstrated excellence over the past 12 months
  • Judged on overall team performance including leadership, communication, strategy, drive and results
Employer of Choice > 200 staff
  • Recognises the best organisation to work for in New Zealand with 200 or more employees
  • Judged on leadership, engagement, communication and employee benefits
Employer of Choice < 200 staff
  • Recognises the best organisation to work for in New Zealand with less than 200 employees
  • Judged on leadership, engagement, communication and employee benefits
Employer of Choice Public Sector or NFP
  • Recognises the best public sector or not-for-profit organisation to work for in New Zealand
  • Judged on leadership, engagement, communication and employee benefits
Best Reward & Recognition Program
  • Recognises excellence and innovation in employee reward and recognition programs and initiatives
  • Judged on consultation, strategy, implementation and results
Best Workplace Diversity & Inclusion Program
  • Recognises excellence and innovation in diversity and inclusion programs and initiatives
  • Judged on consultation, strategy, implementation and results
Best Health & Wellbeing Program
  • Recognises excellence and innovation in workplace health and wellbeing programs and initiatives
  • Judged on consultation, strategy, implementation and results
Best Graduate Development Program
  • Recognises excellence and innovation in graduate development programs and initiatives in any organisation in New Zealand
  • Judged on consultation, strategy, implementation and results
Best Workplace Flexibility Program
  • Recognises excellence and innovation in workplace flexibility programs and initiatives
  • Judged on consultation, strategy, implementation and results
Service Provider of the Year

This award recognises the best service provider within the HR industry operating in New Zealand. Eligible service providers include but are not limited to software and technology, legal, compliance, training and education.

When judging this category, the following criteria will be considered:

  • Overall customer service proposition/point of difference
  • Industry’s need for the service
  • How the service has added value and overall commitment of the organisation to its customers
  • Demonstrated commitment to innovation and continuous improvement
